I’m no stranger to stepping out of my comfort zone—literally and figuratively. Whether it’s braving the icy Spokane River for a winter plunge (even though I despise cold weather because it hurts me) or pushing myself in other unexpected ways, I’ve learned that discomfort often leads to healing.
Recently, I’ve discovered a new way to challenge myself: 30 minutes in my 150° infrared sauna. At first glance, it doesn’t seem like much of a stretch. After all, I love being warm and cozy. But let me tell you—sitting in that intensity isn’t always easy. I sometimes have to push through the discomfort, lean into the challenge, and let the process do its work.
Who knew stepping out of my comfort zone could look like leaning into warmth instead of braving the cold? Life is weird!
It reminded me that growth isn’t always about facing what we hate; sometimes it’s about meeting ourselves where we are and pushing just a little further.
What about you? What do you do to step out of your comfort zone?
Let’s inspire each other to keep growing, healing, and trying new things—even when it’s hard.
