Hey there! I'm Sassy Cassie, the founder of LifeRocks Coaching & Wellness.
Today, I want to share why I chose to offer life coaching over traditional therapy and why a positive forward thinking approach is at the heart of what we do at LifeRocks.
I am often asked this question so I thought today I would answer it.
You see, traditional talk therapy often focuses on the past, encouraging us to relive and rehash our painful memories. For many people, myself included, this approach can sometimes make things worse. Especially when the one-hour session is over and you suddenly have to put away all the trauma you’ve just unpacked and go on about your day.
In my younger years, I sought solace in traditional therapy, hoping to find healing by reliving the past. But the more I delved into those painful memories, the more I felt like I was back in the trauma.
Then, I discovered several techniques which I later learned are often part of life coaching. It was a breath of fresh air. Instead of focusing on the past, life coaching techniques helped me focus on the present and future. By understanding how trauma shapes our mindsets and behaviors, I was able to identify unhealthy patterns and develop new, healthier coping mechanisms.
Life coaching taught me that healing isn't about forgetting the past; it's about learning to live with it differently. It's about breaking free from the chains of yesterday’s trauma, reprogramming your brain, and reclaiming your life. Actually, it’s about more than that. It’s about re-creating your life. The one you want to live.
It's about looking your trauma-driven behaviors in the eye and saying, "I’m not doing that anymore."
At LifeRocks our programs typically focus on the present and future, helping you build the life you want without constantly digging up painful experiences from the past.
But trauma isn't all we address at LifeRocks, we work with everyone who wants to #CreateALifeThatRocks .
